Description
Sites of Community Importance and Special Conservation Zones (SACs) present on the Italian territory updated in November 2013. The Site of Community Importance (SCI) and the Special Area of Conservation (SAC) are concepts defined by Community Directive No 43 of 21 May 1992, (92/43/EEC), also known as the Habitats Directive, and transposed in Italy in 1997. The Directive concerns the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora.
