Southern Hydrogeological Map 1: 250K — Dataset
Description
The Southern Italian Hydrogeological Charter was drawn up as part of the INTERREG IIC operational programme ‘Assetto del Territorio e Fight Against Drought’, for the Italian regions covered by Objective I.This map leads to the establishment of a summary picture of the state of knowledge of the groundwater stock and its current use in southern Italy. The reconstruction of the summary framework was based on the acquisition of most of the scientific publications on hydrogeological ‘problems’ in the Italian regions of Molise, Campania, Apulia, Basilicata and Calabria. This summary provides a homogeneous information base from which a comprehensive overview of the distribution of groundwater resources can be obtained by classifying and characterising aquifers.
