Radon - Regions/Autonomous Provinces (2021) affected by high potential natural radioactivity - Dataset
Description
The resource describes the mapping of Italian municipalities (ISTAT territorial base, 2021) with the presence of lithotypes with high potential natural radioactivity. It was added as an appendix to the National Action Plan for Radon (Action 1.2) in implementation of Legislative Decree No 101 of 31 July 2020. The resource illustrates the distribution of municipalities (ISTAT 2021) affected by surface rocks with high potential radioactivity according to threshold values in absolute percentage of territory: blue ≥ 15%; 15% > orange ≥ 10%; 10% > green > 0%.The data of the natural radioactivity of the rocks have been acquired from national and international bibliographic sources.
