**This dataset lists the botanical collections of the Jardin des Plantes de Lille (306 Rue du Jardin des Plantes). These are in the first place the plants introduced to the botanical squares (garden located at the entrance to the garden accessed through the Porte de Douai; near the equatorial greenhouse) and trees located in the park. **

The Jardin des Plantes is a botanical garden and amusement park. It offers an astonishing diversity of atmospheres, collections and uses for all audiences on more than 10 hectares. In the heart of the garden, you will discover the Equatorial Greenhouse, a lush universe of exotic plants hidden under the glass and concrete walls of the greenhouse. Similarly, the collections of orchids and tree ferns are the stars of this jungle, for a guaranteed change of scenery! As for the "botanical squares", these medicinal gardens of yesteryear, they are like a real museum of life.
The visit will allow you to observe hundreds of rare plants and species classified by family or original theme, especially as the garden evolves with the seasons!

_The inventory of botanical collections is in progress. The "planting dates" will be updated over time. The Garden of Plants was established in 1948. From 31 December 1947, the collections were moved from the former Botanical Garden to the collections of the Jardin des Plantes thus created.
