Description
Intermodal transport statistics cover the movement of intermodal transport units (containers, swap bodies or goods vehicles suitable for intermodal transport). Such transport is inherent in the fact that goods in a container are not handled when modes of transport are changed. Intermodal transport is therefore a specific mode of multimodal transport, i.e. transport with at least two or more modes of transport.
