Description
France RELIEF is a new comprehensive offer of access to altimetry data, meeting the needs of various professional and institutional applications, and allows a precise analysis of the topographical and altimetry characteristics of the territory. The range of altimetry products included is based on LiDAR and image correlation technologies and regularly updated to ensure optimum accuracy. France RELIEF is composed of 4 products, 2 products of description of the land (without elements of surfaces such as buildings or vegetation): - 1 . France RELIEF Point clouds - 2 . France RELIEF MNT and two products describing the entire territory (soil and all surface elements such as buildings, infrastructure and vegetation): - 3 . LiDAR point clouds - 4 . MNS ### Detailed Description **1. France RELIEF Point clouds** This product is the altimetry data base of the territory, it is the soil repository, designed to provide a consistent and reliable basis. It is a ground point cloud, obtained by LiDAR surveys and updated in a targeted manner using image correlation methods. This reference system is regularly updated to ensure optimum accuracy, making it possible to make effective use of the data for various uses, such as 3D modelling and visualisation, natural risk management or spatial planning. This product is also designed to serve as a foundation for many other models and derivatives. **2. France RELIEF MNT** The MNT is a product derived from the reference cloud of ground points, representing only the surface of the ground without the elements on the surface (buildings, vegetation, etc.). It is a 50 cm raster grid. It is ideal for applications requiring in-depth knowledge of natural topography, such as water management, geological studies, or hydrological modelling. The NTM is calculated from the benchmark to provide an accurate model, continuously updated to reflect changes whether anthropogenic or natural. **3. LiDAR point clouds** This product is composed of vintage LiDAR point clouds, describing the entire territory (soil and surface elements such as buildings, infrastructure and vegetation). These point clouds are recorded by vintage to provide snapshots of altimetry at different times. Each dataset is classified to identify the different types of surfaces (soil, vegetation, artificial structures, etc.). This product is particularly useful for monitoring the evolution of the territory, calculating volumes (e.g. land movements, quarries), and studying vegetation. **4. MNS** MNS is a vintage product. It is generated either from LiDAR data or from data from image correlations. The MNS is a 50 cm raster grid that includes the altitude of all surface elements (soil, buildings, trees, infrastructure) on specific dates. The vintage MNS provides a detailed view of the configuration of the territory at a given moment. This product is particularly suitable for applications such as urban planning, sun simulation, and forest and building management. ### Access to detailed product sheets: For more information on each product, you can access the detailed sheets by clicking on the links below: - 1 .
