**Provisional delineation of the probable demarcation line Year 2000**Source: Directorate-General for Coasts, Ministry of the Environment [More information](http://www.magrama.gob.es/es/costs/issues/procedures-management-domain-public-maritime-terrestrial/linea-deslinde/default.aspx)[**Maritime land domain**](http://sig.magrama.es/Docs/PDFServicesProd2/DPMT_Costa.pdf) In order to promote effective protection on our coasts and to increase legal certainty for the holders of rights on the coast, the demarcation lines of the entire Spanish coast are published. After a long and laborious process, it has been possible to represent in digital format the line corresponding to the more than 10,000 km of goods in the maritime-terrestrial public domain of our coast. This achieves a twofold objective: 1. Ensure transparency and information to citizens about their properties and other rights, so that no citizen can ever acquire a home or other property on the coast and then discover that it does not belong to them because it is DPMT. 2. Establish effective protection on our coasts by making it easier for all agents acting on the coast to know clearly which goods are in the maritime-land public domain and which goods, although private, are affected by limitations, so that inappropriate uses or occupations that may affect such a sensitive environment as the coast are avoided. Access to DPMT demarcation information * Through the Ministry Viewer * Through the Electronic Headquarters of the Cadastre, of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, without the need for an electronic signature and available in Spanish and English to facilitate consultation with citizens of other countries. * Through access to the WMS Service of the Maritime Land Public Domain (http://wms.magrama.es/sig/Costs/DPMT/wms.aspx) The data available are for information only. Its main function is to disseminate and disseminate the work prepared by the Directorate General of Sustainability of the Coast and Sea to offer better information to the citizen. In any case, the information may be checked in each of the Peripheral Coastal Services.
