Description

The Historical Heritage of the Canary Islands, as established by Law 4/1999, of 15 March, on the Historical Heritage of the Canary Islands, consists of movable and immovable property of historical, architectural, artistic, archaeological, ethnographic, paleontological, scientific or technical interest. Also part of the Canarian historical heritage are the intangible assets of popular and traditional culture and the linguistic particularities of the Spanish spoken in the Canary Islands. Assets forming part of the historical heritage shall be included in the Register of Assets of Cultural Interest, in inventories and in municipal catalogues and charters. Se declararán bienes de interés cultural del patrimonio histórico canario, artículos 17 y 18 de la Ley 4/1999, los bienes con valores más notorios o que constituyan testimonios singulares de la cultura canaria, estando regulado el procedimiento de declaración mediante el Decreto 111/2004, de 29 de julio, por el que se aprueba el Reglamento sobre Procedimiento de Declaración y Régimen Jurídico de los Bienes de Interés Cultural. Property declared of Cultural Interest on the island of La Palma shall be declared in accordance with the following categories: -Monuments -Traditional Activities -Historical Complex -Historical Site -Archaeological Areas
