Description
The Historical Heritage of the Canary Islands, as established by Law 4/1999, of 15 March, on the Historical Heritage of the Canary Islands, consists of movable and immovable property of historical, architectural, artistic, archaeological, ethnographic, paleontological, scientific or technical interest. Also part of the Canarian historical heritage are the intangible assets of popular and traditional culture and the linguistic particularities of the Spanish spoken in the Canary Islands. Assets forming part of the historical heritage shall be included in the Register of Assets of Cultural Interest, in inventories and in municipal catalogues and charters.
Articles 17 and 18 of Law 4/1999 will be declared assets of cultural interest of the Canarian historical heritage, assets with more notorious values or that constitute unique testimonies of the Canarian culture, being regulated the declaration procedure by Decree 111/2004, of July 29, which approves the Regulation on the Procedure of Declaration and Legal Regime of Assets of Cultural Interest
