Description
The Geotechnical Map of the Canary Islands consists of the zoning of the island territory, with the limitations that the scale and nature of the materials allow, in areas of more or less homogeneous geotechnical behavior (geotechnical units) that, for the purposes of geotechnical recognition planning, will have a similar treatment. These geotechnical units have in turn been classified within the terrain groups defined by the Basic Structural Safety Document (DB SE-C) of the Technical Building Code (CTE). The Geotechnical Map of the Canary Islands is an essential tool for the application of the “Guide for the planning and realisation of geotechnical studies for construction in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands GETCAN-011”, which is a document recognised in the CTE Registry with reference CTE-DR-045-13.
