Description

One of the most widespread invasive species in recent years in the Canary Islands is known as cattail (Pennisetum setaceum). It is a plant of African origin that has become one of the most dominant and aggressive species in certain parts of the island, reaching its distribution proportions difficult to eradicate. Although for more than a decade different campaigns have been developed promoted by the H.E. Cabildo Insular de La Palma, the pauses between the cleaning works have not allowed to reduce their populations, or even stop their advance in the island territory.
