Description

The distribution of the routes is basically done through a single starting point, El Refugio del Pilar. Many of the routes are combinable with each other giving the possibility of configuring to the user's liking other routes of different lengths, difficulties and unevennesses. The El Pilar Recreational Area is a multifunctional recreational space that offers hikers and cyclists information about the network of trails and the network of mountain bike routes, as well as information about the Cumbre Vieja Natural Park and its resources of interest. The Recreational Area of El Pilar has a wide range of equipment: information point, interpretation center, stoves, tables, camping area, bathrooms, etc. From this place different hiking and mountain biking routes depart. MTB/BTT SPACE: The El Pilar Recreational Area has a specific space for mountain bikes where you can park and consult information about the routes. Currently from the PILAR depart 7 MTB routes that total more than 100 km. More information: **Levels of difficulty** * **Easy:** Accessible to anyone with a minimum of bike skills and basic physical preparation. Tracks, paths and some piece of trail without any special difficulty. Routes with very little unevenness, although there may be grooves, trails, important potholes and even gaps. There are no steep slopes. Itineraries quite easy to follow. * **Medium:** Cyclists used to riding a bike. Small ports with moderate slopes (<8%), some hard ramps (>10%), longer stretches of trail that may force cyclists of lower technical level to dismount. Some very stony stretches of road. * **Hard:** For good mountain bikers. Long (>10 kms) and/or hard (>10%) ports. Technical and difficult trails. Important descents where extreme precautions. Possible bearing. * **Very difficult:** For good mountain bikers. Long (>10 kms) and/or hard (>10%) ports. Technical and difficult trails. Important descents where extreme precautions. Possible bearing.
