Acts of civil status – City of Lorient

Annual list of civil status statistics registered by the City of Lorient since 1989. This list shall specify the acts:

• recognition
• birth
• civil union (marriage, pacs)
• death

Gender criteria are proposed to identify the sex of newborns and couples who enter into a civil union.

Some peculiarities:

• The creations and dissolutions of Civil Pacts of Solidarity (PACS) have been registered by the City since November 2017.
• Name changes (Article 311-23 of the Civil Code) have been registered by the City since 2005.
• Changes in first name (Articles 60 to 61-4 of the Civil Code) have been registered by the City since 2017.
• Changes in the local hospital context explain the upward trend in the total number of births since the mid-2000s.
