This dataset presents different bike parkings across Wallonia.nnMotivations for the creation of the dataset The dataset was created as part of a challenge organised on the Databusters service. Databusters is a web app that invites Walloon citizens to collect data in the context of challenges opened by public actors or by FuturoCité. In the form of crowdsourcing, the data collection enabled by the Databusters service allows Walloon administrations and public actors to collect data for public interest purposes. Databusters challenge organisers sign an agreement in which they guarantee open data on odwb.be The ‘Gare ton vélo!’ challenge was organised by FuturoCité from 10 to 31 October 2022 throughout Wallonia. The dataset was initially created in order to reference as many bicycle parkings as possible on the Wallonia-en-Poche application, in particular in the form of a map, with the possibility of recording the parking status in order to keep the dataset up to date on odwb.be. Wallonia en Poche is an application that brings together relevant and up-to-date services and information for all Walloons, relying mainly on Open Data. This dataset is a complement to the datasets that already exist on the referencing of bicycle parking in Wallonia. Indeed, several Walloon cities (Namur, La Louvière, Mons, ...) already offer data sets that list bicycle parking on their territory. The current dataset is therefore not exhaustive with regard to the Walloon territory, although it is likely to be updated regularly, on the one hand because it is still possible to collect this data via Databusters at present, and on the other hand as part of future challenges to identify bicycle parking in Wallonia. This dataset could be used for different purposes: Together with the other datasets on bicycle parking in Wallonia: map bicycle parking throughout Wallonia; Locally, in certain towns, municipalities, areas and others, map bicycle parking in a more restricted way; Complete existing datasets of different public actors, cycling associations or administrations. and others. Be careful! To consider this dataset as representative of all bike parking in Wallonia would be misleading. As a producer, FuturoCité offers this dataset as a complement to the datasets on the same theme produced by the different Walloon cities, municipalities and inter-municipalities. The production of this dataset is carried out with the support of Wallonia and Digital Wallonia. Composition of the dataset The dataset presents geolocation data, addresses, information about bicycle parking lots as well as photos of these parking lots (URL). With the exception of one field (number of places), the data presented are mainly qualitative and locational. Data of statistical categories (e.g.: common codes, etc.) are produced and updated by Statbel and BOSA, a guarantee of sustainability. The images available in the open dataset are hosted on the server of FuturoCité asbl (Walloon body), as well as the raw and processing data (not open). The dataset was created in accordance with the Walloon scheme on bicycle parking data, created by FuturoCité. Field name Description id This field contains a unique local identifier, produced by associating the INS code of the municipality in which the bike slot is located with a number. This field makes it possible to avoid duplicates locally. municipality This field contains the name of the municipality in which the bicycle location is located. ins_code This field contains the INS code of the municipality where the bicycle parking is located. zone_address This field contains the name of the part of the municipality where the bicycle parking is located, in line with the call in StatBel. ins_zone_address This field contains the INS code of the part of the municipality where the bicycles are located.
