Monitoring network for dioxin emissions from public waste incinerators in Wallonia

Description

The Scientific Institute of Public Service (ISSeP) has been subsidized for the installation and management of equipment for the continuous monitoring of dioxin emissions from household waste incinerators in Wallonia. This includes the installation of the necessary devices to monitor and assess dioxin emissions into the environment, as well as the implementation of automatic back-blowing systems for sampling probes. These actions aim to ensure compliance with environmental standards and to ensure the health security of populations by reducing the risks associated with air pollution. The four installations studied are: Charleroi (Tibi): 2 ovensThumaide (IPALLE): 4 furnaces, two of which are equipped with three flue gas treatment lines and three cork chimneys (INTRADEL): 2 furnacesVirginal (in BW): 2 ovens The results are published, within a period of 3 weeks following the survey of the cartridge, on the site of the SPW Environnement under its sole responsibility and always according to the presentation scheme defined and approved by the technical committee. The results are presented separately by incinerator and by furnace in the form of graphs and data sheets. The graph and the corresponding data sheet contain all the data for half a year. This graph shows: the total value of dioxins and furans in ng TEQ/Nm3 for each period (green histogram) . the period (7 periods per graph)the data sheet shows the information for the period
