SPW - Perimeter of economic recognition - Wallonia

Description

This dataset locates the economic recognition perimeters facilitating the development of the area of economic activities. In order to promote private investment and thus economic and social development, the Walloon Government has adopted, in recent decades, measures related to the development of specific areas enabling the creation of reception facilities for economic activities. The means of this policy are enshrined in the decree of 11 March 2004 more commonly referred to as the “infrastructure decree”. The purpose of this decree is to allow certain operators – mainly the public authorities (region, municipalities and inter-municipal areas) – to expropriate spaces intended to accommodate economic activities. The decree also provides for aid and financing to enable these infrastructures to be built. The perimeters of economic recognition (PRE) are the cornerstone of the Infrastructure Decree as they are the necessary prerequisite for the implementation of expropriations and subsidies. It is only within these perimeters that these tools will be applied. In other words, the PREs define the limits within which the Order is applicable.
