Operational points of the Infrabel network

Description

Division of the railway network according to the characteristics of the infrastructure and the possibilities of operation.This list includes the location, but also the different official names of the points of operation, as well as an important classification:These points of operation must be analyzed with the data on the sections of lines because they represent the points of departure and arrival of the sections (their identification numbers are given in this dataset). (The purpose of this data is to allow schematic representations of the Belgian railway network (at a scale of max. 1/25,000). This explains in particular why the location of stations is not always accurate, the same position for the largest stations in our country representing up to nearly 3 km of platforms.These data are also published in the European Register of Railway Infrastructure.You will find below the description of the different designations that appear in this dataset:Symbolic name: This term is used in telegrams and in communication between the various IT systems.TAP/TAF code: European official designation according to the rules for the carriage of goods and passengers in Europe. TAP: Telematics Applications for Passenger Services and TAF: Telematics Appplications for Freight. Go to RailNetEurope for more information. BVT abbreviations: Official abbreviation printed in Dutch and French as mentioned in the network statement, part D. Train service book Official designations: short, medium and long; indicated as they can be used in a text or e-mail. The internal classification (in Infrabel) of these elements is also cited.
