Namur - Art in the City

Description

Milestoned with frescoes and sculptures, ancient or contemporary, in reduced format or xxl, Namur has become, over the years, a place of permanent exhibition. Take the time to walk the streets to discover, here, a Pop Art silhouette, further away from the personalities that have marked Wallonia, here and there geometric or plant motifs. Take a good look at the facades. Perhaps you will see a carved stone, a comic book character or a little man in a tie suit stuck between two bricks? Take a break and sit on a chair-poem or on a giant bench to contemplate the landscape and the people walking around. This integration of works into public space, accentuated over the past ten years as part of Namur Confluent Culture, responds to the city's desire to make art accessible to as many people as possible while strengthening the attractiveness of the Walloon capital. The objective is also to challenge the public and bring them to take a new look at this city built at the confluence of the Sambre and the Meuse.
