Description

Local Sports Centre (CSL) A local sports centre is an infrastructure designed to encourage and facilitate the practice of sport for a given population, usually at the communal or inter-municipal level. These centres aim to promote sport for all, providing a framework adapted to local needs. They may include facilities such as sports halls, outdoor grounds, swimming pools or other sports facilities. CSLs are often managed by a public authority (municipal, inter-municipal) or a mandated body, and their development is based on a logic of proximity and accessibility. Integrated Local Sports Centre (CSLI) An integrated local sports centre goes further than the classic CSL. It meets stricter criteria and offers a multisectoral dimension, integrating both: - Quality sports equipment: meet standards to host competitions or meet a variety of needs. - A social and educational function: activities are organised to promote social inclusion, the discovery of sport, and awareness-raising about working life. - A cross-cutting approach: collaborations are established with schools, local associations, and other actors in social and cultural life to maximize the impact on the community. CSLIs generally benefit from specific grants and aid from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation to meet these broader objectives. They stand out for their willingness to integrate sport into a broader vision of local development.
