Namur - Cemetery - Burials of Local Historical Importance (SIHL)

Description

Welcome to the online mapping of the SIHL. Ready to (re)discover the personalities who have historically participated in the development of Namur, our beautiful Walloon capital? This project, developed by the City of Namur on the initiative of the Echevinat au Cadre de Vie et Population, aims to honour tombs of remarkable quality as well as the deceased who have been honoured in our collective local history through different QR codes affixed to different burials in cemeteries. Armed with your smartphone, you just have to wander along different thematic routes and scan the QR codes you will see. Each of these codes, sorted by color according to the categories, will refer you to a web page dedicated specifically to introduce you to the deceased, his life and his involvement in the radiance of Namur. This project is the culmination of an important collective work bringing together the various departments of the City such as the Deaths and Burials Unit, Document Management, Geomatics, Reprography, Green Spaces and finally the families who have agreed to include their deceased in this initiative. Not to mention the authors of historical works and their valuable content.
