Natural systems of Spanish national parks

Description

The mapping of natural systems of the Network of National Parks of Spain is of a digital vector type, continuous, homogeneous and comparable for the entire territory of the national parks. Natural plant systems (on a scale of 1:10.000) and geological systems (on a scale of 1:25.000) have been mapped using classifications for the development of natural systems established in the annex to Law 30/2014 on National Parks. Interpretation of aerial orthophotographies has been performed, as well as fieldwork in the case of natural plant systems. Different reference cartographies have been used for the different national parks. The initiative is integrated into the National Parks Network’s Monitoring and Evaluation Plan.
