Zone GEODE Z2100. Internal Beetic Areas

Description

This continuous mapping was made inside the GEODE PLAN from the pre-existing series MAGNA E.1:50,000, improved with more recent geological cartography carried out by the IGME and other researchers published in doctoral theses and articles scientists. Geologically, the scope of the project has covered the Beetic Inner Zones (Nevado-Filabride Complex, Complex) Alpujárride, Maláguide Complex and Front Units) together with the inner neogen basins and neogen volcanic rocks that are they are mainly found in the peninsular SE. The geographical scope of the cartography includes the provinces of Malaga, Granada, Almeria, Murcia and Alicante. It also includes the geological mapping of the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, Chafarinas Islands, Alboran Island, Peñón de Alhucemas and Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera. This project has been carried out by IGME staff and by three contracted technical assistance (DADREV S.L., BIOSFERA XXI S.L. Y TECNA S.A.). This work has been carried out with the participation and collaboration of Antonio Pineda Velasco, Pedro Martínez Zubieta, Jesús Rodero Pérez, Guadalupe Díaz Pinto, Je´sus Galindo Zaldívar and José Miguel Azañón Hernández, being carried out under the technical supervision of the IGME.
