Description
The data proposed here concern annual statistics of children born alive as well as declarative judgments of birth. The place of birth is the mother's domicile and not the place of birth. All statistics are available in the municipal geography in force on 1 January 2023.
The statistics are compiled from the statistical bulletins of civil status drawn up by the mayors, at the time and in the commune where the births take place and from the transcripts of the declaratory birth judgments drawn up by the courts.

The INSEE local data visualization site offers the consultation of maps of data relating to domiciled births, the short-term fertility indicator and the birth rate at the municipal, inter-municipal, departmental or regional level. It is possible to download the data in .xlsx or .csv format.
This page of the website of the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies provides downloadable annual data on births domiciled at the commune level since 2008.
