barrier

Barrier layer (water, ring road, highway, regional road, rail,...) with safe crossings for vulnerable road users (tunnels, bridges, pedestrian crossings with traffic lights). This data layer is updated annually in January, provided that the facility is managed and updated annually by the relevant sector/service. Important barriers (water, ring, motorway, regional road, rail, etc.) and safe crossings for vulnerable road users (tunnels, bridges, pedestrian crossings with traffic lights) are taken into account in order to determine the range and shortage zones. This means that a buffer stops at the barrier and continues to a safe crossing. In combination with the buffers of the safe crossings, it also says something about the degree of barrier effect: if barriers are still visible, this means that vulnerable road users have to make a detour in order to be able to cross.
