Description

This file provides the number of persons assisted under the family care of the elderly (AFPA) by canton and the amounts of aid granted. The data relate to the period during which the services were provided (service provided). Where a canton has fewer than 5 beneficiaries, the data shall be subject to statistical confidentiality. In total, in 2023, there were 38 AFPA beneficiaries at departmental level, for a total expenditure of €461,086.01. AFPA consists of the reception, at the home of a third party who has obtained the approval of the President of the Department, for a fee, of an elderly person. The foster family member is remunerated by the host: the Department is not his employer. Hosts may apply for social assistance to cover accommodation costs in the event of insufficient resources. It is granted in accordance with the provisions of admission to social assistance.
