Description
The competence in the field of civil registries pursuant to Act No. 301/2000 Coll., on civil registries, first name and surname, as amended, is exercised by civil registries, which are municipal authorities, municipal authorities, municipal district authorities in the capital city of Prague, municipal district authorities in territorially divided statutory cities or municipal district authorities and, for the territory of military districts, district authorities designated and their administrative district defined by the Ministry of the Interior by Implementing Decree No. 207/2001 Coll., as amended. The current situation was published in Decree No. 660/2004 Coll. of 29 December 2004. The register is the state register of births, marriages and deaths of natural persons in the territory of the Czech Republic and births, marriages and deaths occurring abroad, if they are citizens of the Czech Republic. The territorial catchment area of the registry office represents the territory of one or more basic territorial units.
