Description
Collisions on public vehicle grade crossings since 2004, including with pedestrians.
* Total number of level crossings: total annual number of level crossings (road and pedestrian) on track operated. (indicator from SNCF Réseau)
* Train vehicle collisions: annual number of accidents the first consequence of which is a collision, at a level crossing or road crossing, of at least one railway vehicle with one or more passing vehicles. (indicator from SNCF Réseau)
* Users killed: total number of level crossing users killed in an accident, including pedestrian accidents. (indicator from SNCF Réseau)
* Killed in vehicle: total number of level crossing users killed in rail and road vehicles, including two wheels. (indicator from SNCF Voyageurs)
* Pedestrians killed: total number of pedestrians killed as a result of a collision at a level crossing. (indicator from SNCF Voyageurs)
These data are taken from the annual safety reports of SNCF Réseau and SNCF Voyageurs. Published each year, these reports take stock of the company’s safety activities and meet SNCF’s information obligation under Article 17 of Decree No 2006-1279.
