Description
Oak areas and the point layer oaks from 2006 were updated in 2017 with the help of new field inventories and aerial image interpretation based on management aspects, as well as supplementing with new found giant oaks. However, the Shp file Core Areas is the same as created in 2007 based on the inventory in 2006, since no new value classifications have been made within the project. The polygons show areas with clusters of oak areas and mapped oaks that have been assessed as core areas for Stockholm's oak environments. Buffer zones of 250 m made around all Class 1 and 2 oaks from the point layer ‘Oaks’ have formed the basis for the geographical delimitation. Other criteria have been the presence of at least one Class 1 oak area in a core area and a total of at least 30 coarse oak trees of Class 1-3, of which at least 10 valuable oak trees of Class 1-2.
