Description
The data set based on www.segner.no is based on the history database "Segner in Sunnhordland" from the early 1990s, and was associated with the Norwegian section at Stord teacher college by Bjørn Bjørlykke and Nils Tore Gram Ecland. It was a database that was widely used in teaching and practice in both teacher education and preschool teacher education. Many students also participated in the collection of legends.
When Stord/Hyesund University College was shipwrecked in 1994, the history area was expanded to Nord-Rogaland, Sunnhordland and Hardanger. When Stord/Hyesund University College joined forces with other colleges in Western Norway 2017, it became natural to expand the area to the whole of Western Norway. The work to establish "Segner in Western Norway" began in 2016, but the collection still asks the character of its original core area. Sogn and Fjordane have now become a strong part of the collection. As well as the whole of Rycounty.
