**Dataset showing the annual change in the road noise index measured by permanent Parisian noise stations:**
These data specify the annual averages of the measurements made by Bruitparif during the day (Lden) and at night (Ln) for different types of stations installed in Paris.

These data were determined using the CNOSSOS method.
** _CNOSSOS Method_** _(Common NOise aSSessment methOdS)_
The CNOSSOS method, taken over by European Directive 2015/996 of 19 May 2015, aims to provide a common noise assessment model for the various countries of Europe. It specifies in Annex II to the Directive the sound propagation algorithms applicable to road noise, industrial noise, rail noise and air traffic noise.

** _Definition of indices_**
* **L** **den** **(level day evening night):** European index characterising the noise of a transport infrastructure averaged over 24 hours, in dB(A) and 2 m on the façade. This indicator is calculated on the basis of the equivalent levels over the three periods (day, evening and night) weighted by giving a stronger weight to the noise produced in the evening (18-22h) (+ 5 dB(A)) and at night (22h-6h) (+10 dB(A)) to take into account the increased sensitivity of individuals to noise pollution during these two periods
* **L** **n** **(level night):** European index characterising the average noise of a transport infrastructure at night, from 22.00 to 6.00, in dB(A) and 2 m on the façade.
NB: a corrective term of ‘-3 dB’ applies to European indices so as not to consider the last reflection on the front.
