Arrondissements

The municipal district designates a partition of the commune of Paris.

Delimitation of districts: The imperial decree of 1 November 1859 established the names of the twenty arrondissements of the city of Paris. The communes of Lyon and Marseille also present an administrative organization in arrondissements.

Geographical and topological constraints:

A district consists of a single polygon. The graphic layer respects a topology of surfaces.
Topological consistency is characterised by the absence of a ‘hole’ or ‘overlap’ between districts.
