Yearly evolution of the account of railway connections on Infrabel's network per area.

A railway connections allows for a company to be connected to the railway network. This particular infrastructure comprises the junction and the private tracks including all railway installations beyond the junction.

Disclaimer counting of connections 2022 :
The change in the number of railway connections between the years 2021 and 2022 is due to an update of the definitions of active / inactive connections and the corresponding adaptation of the way connections are counted.

Railway connections definitions from 2022 onwards :
Railway connections: total number of connections (active and inactive)Active railway connections : total number of connections that have actual rail activity in year Y-1.Inactive railway connections : total number of connections that are under contract (or ministerial order) and have no effective rail activity in year Y-1.
