Evolution of tonne-km on Infrabel network

Description

Gross tonnage expressed in ton-km having circulated on the Infrabel network, by quarter and sector. A tonne-km is a unit of measurement for the transport of goods corresponding to the transport of one tonne (1000 kg) of goods by rail over a distance of one kilometre. Gross tonnage includes both the weight of the rolling stock (locomotive, wagons, container carrier, etc.) and the weight of the goods transported (including the weight of the container in the case of container transport). The quantity of transport expressed in tonne-kilometres is calculated by multiplying the mass transported, expressed in tonnes (t), by the distance travelled, expressed in kilometres (km).
