City policy refers to the policy put in place by the public authorities to upgrade urban areas in difficulty and reduce inequalities between territories. It is based on a priority geography defined by the State defining the areas eligible for specific credits of the city policy and a partnership contract called the urban contract of social cohesion (CUCS). This policy, promoted by the municipalities and supported for a long time by the Department, is structured around six axes:
1. promoting employment and economic development;
2. improving the habitat and living environment;
3. ensuring the educational success of children and young people;
4. preventing delinquency;
5. support citizenship and promote republican values;
6. improve access to care.
Due to the reform of the system in 2014 (programming law for the city and urban cohesion of 21 February 2014), ending the CUCS system, this dataset is no longer fed. It is replaced by the city policy grant dataset (see Related data).
