Number of subsidized housing units in urban renewal projects by type of operation and by year up to 2012 * * * The data presented here include the number of subsidized housing units within urban renewal projects. For each housing operation, the number of housing units subsidised by the Department, the contracting authority concerned and the type of operation concerned are presented: the demolition of social rental housing, the construction of social housing as part of the reconstitution of the demolished social offer, rehabilitation, improvement of the quality of service and "residentialization" (see lexicon). The referenced intervention sites are urban renewal projects led by the communes of Hauts-de-Seine which have been the subject of an agreement between the commune concerned, the ANRU (see lexicon), the Department and all the co-financers. This dataset is no longer fed following the completion of the ANRU 1 programme. **Lexico** ANRU National Agency for Urban Renovation. Since 2004, ANRU has been implementing comprehensive and multi-year intervention programmes to transform these stigmatised neighbourhoods into neighbourhoods that are better integrated into the surrounding urban fabric. Residentialisation A residentialization operation consists in developing the surroundings of social housing buildings, particularly in order to clarify the federal nature of outdoor spaces. It mainly takes the form of actions with a spatial component: a sectorisation of space, a redefinition of the status and uses of outdoor spaces and the associated management methods. Improved quality of service The improvement of the quality of service consists of light interventions on the common parts of the social building in order to improve the comfort of tenants of the type: securing access, requalification of halls, change of mailboxes, etc. **Special comments** These data represent only part of the Department's response to urban renewal. Grants are also awarded for road development projects and the construction/renovation of public facilities in particular. The reference taken is the date of the vote in the standing committee of the grant concerned, the implementation of the operation (end of works) then takes place.
