This dataset lists all the animal species inventoried in most of the Hauts-de-Seine territory. It is a true atlas of departmental fauna aggregating information on very diverse taxonomic groups.
This wildlife inventory is aimed at both the general public and experts and improves knowledge of species at the departmental level. In fact, it can become a decision-making tool, particularly in the management and preservation of environments.
**Lexico**
Vernacular name: common name, in the local language, given to one or more animal or plant species in its country or region of origin.
Biodiversity: Biodiversity, in the etymological sense of the term, evokes the diversity of life, that is to say all the processes, lifestyles or functions that lead to maintaining an organism in a state of life.
Taxonomic group: A group of species sharing specific criteria and a common ancestor.

The data in this faunal inventory use taxonomic repositories for the flora and fauna of metropolitan France: "TAXREF" published by the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle.
