School map of public colleges (sectors)

Description

The map of the sectorisation of the public colleges of Hauts-de-Seine makes it possible to quickly know the sector college associated with a section of road. * * * * Within the academy of Versailles, the Department of Yvelines and that of Val d’Oise benefit from a complete cartographic solution for the management and consultation of the school sectorisation of colleges. This solution, aimed at families and partners, makes it possible to disseminate very widely reliable and accessible information about the sectorisation of colleges, competence of the departments. For the Directorate of Education, Citizenship and Colleges (DECC), the challenge of this project was to propose a similar system in the Hauts-de-Seine territory within the framework of the Unified Directorate. A fine geographical data based on the track/street wire, a real mesh of management of school sectorisation, has been created to visualise and manipulate the data as closely as possible. The solution chosen for the online application of the school card in the Department is twofold and is based on 2 modules: * A school sectorisation input module for internal DECC; * A school map consultation module for the general public. **Methodology** Based on the official sectorisation data provided by the DECC (arrested) and the street wire from the topographic database of the IGN (BD Topo), the GIS and Open data teams have made the sections of streets reliable in order to assign to each of them its connecting college. They then set up a web mapping application based on the Department’s GIS solutions. Through it, the DECC can make data more reliable and refine the school map according to changes in the territory: new college, new neighborhood, evolution of the middle school population, etc. The polygon sector layer was created from the layer of road sections on which school sectorisation is based. A polygon is generated consistently around sections of roads with the same area college and following communal boundaries. Polygons are topological among themselves. If new sections of roads are added to an area, an update of the area and the adjacent area(s) shall be carried out. The interactive map for the general public uses all the data thus reliable and refined. This school map of the Hauts-de-Seine public colleges allows families to quickly and simply know the connecting college of their children. **Specific comments** The map is provided for illustrative purposes and only the deliberation voted by the Conseil Départemental des Hauts-de-Seine is enforceable. The information presented relates to the school year 2023-2024.
