Summary of the accessibility of the communal heritage * * * * This table is a synthesis of the accessibility of the communal heritage: communal buildings receiving the public are categorised by types and categories. **Context** [The Law of 11 February 2005](https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/jorf/id/JORFTEXT000000809647) on “Equal rights and opportunities, participation and citizenship of persons with disabilities” gave a new impetus for people with disabilities and their integration. It tends to make accessible to all the entire travel chain, from buildings to public space. [Article L.2143-3](https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/codes/id/LEGIARTI000029522241) of the General Code of Local and Regional Authorities requires the creation, in all municipalities of more than 5000 inhabitants, of a communal commission for accessibility (CCA). Chaired by the mayor, this committee is composed of representatives of the municipality, associations or organisations representing persons with disabilities for all types of disabilities – in particular physical, sensory, cognitive, mental or mental – associations or organisations representing the elderly, representatives of economic actors and representatives of other users of the city. This committee has five tasks: * Within the framework of its competences, it assesses the state of accessibility of the existing built environment, roads, public spaces and transport * It prepares an annual report presented in city council * It makes all useful proposals to improve the accessibility of the existing * Organises a system to identify the availability of accessible housing for people with disabilities * It maintains, by electronic means, the list of establishments receiving the public located in the municipal territory that have drawn up a planned accessibility agenda and the list of facilities accessible to persons with disabilities The CCA maintains the list of LES according to their accessibility. This list was established by [Order of 26 September 2014](https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/jorf/article_jo/JORFARTI000029503346) on the accessibility of establishments receiving the public, public transport, residential buildings and roads for persons with disabilities. **Lexic** ERP Establishments receiving the public (ERP) consist of administrative buildings, local shops and premises where the liberal professions (doctors, lawyers, etc.) receive the public.
