List of childcare facilities for children under 6 years of age in Hauts-de-Seine

This dataset presents the implantation, reception capacities and characteristics of childcare institutions (ECEC) in the departmental territory. ECECs are facilities that regularly, occasionally or even in emergency situations welcome children under 6 years of age. The Departmental Council participates in the financing of public and private ECECs. As part of its maternal and child protection missions, it issues approvals and monitors these establishments.

Crèche
Day care centres cater during the day for children under the age of four whose parents are working or in the process of integration. There are three main types of crèches:

• Collective crèches can accommodate children under the age of four in premises suitable for this purpose, with qualified staff (childcare workers, early childhood educators, childcare assistants). The manager may be a municipality, a non-profit association, a private company, a hospital or another public body;
• Family crèches welcome children under the age of 4 in a family setting, in the home of childminders approved by the PMI services of the Departmental Council. Nursery assistants receive regular technical support from the crèche which employs them. Parents enter into a contract with the community (or association) that employs the childminder;
• Parental crèches are collective crèches run by an association of parents who are themselves involved in childcare with the support of qualified staff. The number of children must be no more than 20.

Kindergarten
Kindergartens cater for children between the ages of 2 and 6, who are not enrolled in school or are enrolled in part-time education.
Multi-home
Multi-care facilities offer different types of care in the same place for children under 4 years of age:

• either regular, full-time or part-time reception;
• either an occasional welcome.

Micro-Crèche
A micro-crèche is a collective childcare facility for children under the age of 6 that employs early childhood professionals who welcome a maximum of ten children simultaneously.

Special comments

The mode of management of the host institutions can be municipal, departmental, other public body, associative or private for profit.
