Map of vulnerability to aquifer pollution
Description
Map of the vulnerability to pollution of the aquifers of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country at a scale of 1:25,000 (year 1993). Carried out by the Department of Spatial Planning, Housing and the Environment of the Basque Government. The basis of this cartography has been the map of permeabilities obtained from the Geological Map of the Basque Country at scale 1:25,000 (EVE) and the Hydrogeological Synthesis of the Basque Country (EVE for the Vice Ministry of Environment of the Basque Government). The terms of the vulnerability map include a classification of the territory into five classes, from very high to very low vulnerability, in addition to areas where there is no appreciable vulnerability. In order to obtain this zoning, the following were considered: the permeability of materials, underground aquifers and areas flowing into aquifer recharge zones.
