Herbario VIT - Vascular Plants (Museum of Natural History of Álava) - Euskadi Nature Information System

The herbarium VIT Vascular Plants (ferns and phanerogams) contains approx. 139,000 leaves belonging to about 9,650 taxa and 119 types. 70% of this collection is computerized. It was founded in 1975 by Pedro Uribe-Echebarría and Luis Antonio Pérez de Heredia, most of its specimens are collected since then, but it also houses two historical herbaria, one dating from the 18th century (the herbarium of Lorenzo Prestamero) and the other from the 19th century (herbarium of José María de Lacoizqueta). Here the data corresponding to the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country have been imported from Gbif.
