Atlas of mortality in small areas of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country (1996-2003)

The Department of Health and Consumer Affairs of the Basque Government has prepared the Atlas of Mortality in Small Areas of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, 1996-2003. The Atlas describes for each sex the distribution of mortality for the period 1996-2003, by the set of causes and by each specific cause, in the census sections of the Basque Country and its three capitals. The study has been prepared by a team from the Department of Health and Consumer Affairs of the Basque Government, the Primary Care Research Unit of Bizkaia and BIOEF within the framework of the MEDEA project (Mortality in small Spanish areas and Socio-Economic and Environmental Inequalities), and has been partially financed by the Health Research Fund of the Carlos III Health Institute.
