These data on the number of operators come from the annual checks that the approved certifying bodies carry out on farms and processing companies engaged in organic distribution.
**Geographical accuracy**
The data are aggregated at municipal level: Insee code of the municipality of the site of activity or in the absence of the place of business.
**Surface data**
Areas certified organic or in conversion at the end of the year
_nb _exp_: Number of farms engaged (with or without areas engaged (including beekeepers, etc.)
_SurfAB_: Areas under organic farming at the end of their conversion period
_SurfC1_: Areas in the first year of conversion
_SurfC2_: Areas in second year of conversion
_SurfC3_: Surface area in third year of conversion
_SurfC123_: Total area in conversion
_SurfBIO_: Total area committed to organic (AB and in conversion)
Crop groups:
_AU_: Other of which (fallow, green manure, flowers, mushrooms, etc.)*
_SF_: Fodder crops (including permanent and temporary grassland, but other fodder crops, rangeland, etc.)
_EN_: Fruit (arboriculture of which nuts, fresh fruit and processing fruit)
_GCU_: Field crops (including pulses)
_LE_: Fresh vegetables (greenhouse or field-painted vegetables (including potatoes)
_PP_: PPAM
_VI_: Viticulture (of which 4% table grapes at national level)
_HSAU_: Excluding utilised agricultural area: surfaces of collective estives, wild picking, wood, marshes... are not taken into account
