Meteorological reanalysis SMHIGridClim (UERRA-Harmonie)
Description
A climatological gridded dataset (SMHI Gridded Climatology - SMHIGridClim) has been developed for the years 1961 – 2018. The data covers the Nordic countries with a horizontal resolution of 2.5 km. The variables developed are air temperature and relative humidity at 2m altitude with a resolution of 1.3 or 6 hours depending on time period, as well as day-dissolved minimum and maximum temperature, precipitation and snow depth. The dataset is developed with optimal interpolation of station data through the analysis tool gridpp, which is an open access software from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.
Observations for the analysis have been obtained from the Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish
Meteorological Institutes and ECMWF.
Explanations of parameter names (under https://opendata-download-metanalys.smhi.se/gridclim/):
- hurs: Relative humidity 2 meters above the ground (00-23 UTC)
- pr: Precipitation (06-06 UTC)
- snd: Snow depth (06 UTC)
- taken: Average air temperature 2 m above ground (00-23 UTC)
- tasmax: Maximum air temperature 2 m above ground (18-18 UTC)
- tasmin: Minimum air temperature 2 m above ground (18-18 UTC)
