Priority districts of the city policy on 1 January 2024
Description
The Lamy law of programming for the city and urban cohesion of February 21, 2014 identified the list of priority districts of the city (QPV). This law is part of the urban cohesion policy, which aims in particular to reduce inequalities in disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
It is run by the State and its departments; Caisse des Dépôts (Banque des Territoires) is the operator carrying out this programme in terms of engineering, loans and investment.
The dataset lists all QPVs updated in January 2024. They are spread over the entire French territory (Metropolitan France + Overseas Departments and Regions).
To adapt to the evolution of the territories, an update of the priority geography was carried out in the spirit of the programming law for the city and urban cohesion of 2014. A new generation of priority districts enters into force on 1 January 2024 for metropolitan France by [Decree No 2023-1314 of 28 December 2023](https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/jorf/id/JORFTEXT000048707389). For the overseas departments, Saint-Martin and French Polynesia, the 2015 quarters remain in force until 31 December 2024 and will be updated by 1 January 2025.
