Description
The Industry Territories Program was launched by the Prime Minister in November 2018 at the National Industry Council and extended in 2022 for 3 years. The 149 “Industrial Territories” identified are intercommunal groups, inter-communal groups or groups of municipalities – located in rural areas, peri-urban areas, small and medium-sized towns – with a strong identity and industrial know-how and where all actors, particularly businesses and local authorities, are mobilised for the development of industry.
For these territories, four issues were selected: recruit, innovate, attract projects and simplify. They now lead the measures taken at the local level and carried out in each project by a partner (one elected and an industrialist).
Within these territories, the Banque des Territoires intervenes in both engineering and investment. It invests nearly 100 million euros each year in industrial projects on the Industrial Territories perimeter.

The dataset made available lists the municipalities belonging to those industrial territories adopted at the end of 2022. The wording of the 149 territories is indicated and associated with the public institutions of inter-municipal cooperation (EPCI) that they bring together as well as the municipalities they include; 16186 municipalities are associated with these 149 industrial territories.
