Description
The set of rational numbers Q = {a-b | a,b TERMS Z and b0} enlarges the set of integers, providing a way to represent the parts of a whole and the division of integers.
The origin of the fractions is very old: since the third millennium BC, Babylonians and Egyptians have already left evidence of their use on clay tablets with cuneiform script and on the Rhind papyrus. At that time, fractions and divisions were related, as is still done today, and therefore, in this didactic unit both themes are addressed relating the common elements.
