Description

The terms politics and society have their origins in Greece and Rome: almost all forms of government -democracy, oligarchy, republic, monarchy- and the institutions that make up them emerged in Greek Antiquity and were analysed in fundamental works by Plato, Aristotle, Thucydides, Cicero, etc. In this block we propose a tour, distributed in four didactic proposals by: 1. The geography and history of Greece and Rome. 2. The main socio-political systems that shaped the societies of Greece and Rome, focusing on two essential figures: Pericles and Augustus. 3. Basic notions about the law, religion, army and daily life of the men of Greece and Rome 4. The Romanisation of the Iberian Peninsula, attending to the process and the main Romanising agents and their reflection in the settlements and main archaeological remains, without forgetting its incidence in what we can call the Roman Aragon.
