List of municipal cemeteries in Munich
Description
In Munich there are 26 cemeteries with a burial site, two cemeteries without a burial site and a war cemetery; in total 29 cemeteries dedicated as such. The Munich cemeteries cover an area of around 420 hectares.
Munich has a decentralized and thus near-residential care of the citizens in case of bereavement and with graves. In principle, there is a free choice of cemetery, free choice of grave and grave species. Only elective graves with unlimited extension possibilities are offered.
