Boating in the Isar

Description

The Isar flows through the city area from southwest to northeast for about 14 kilometers and offers plenty of space for activities and recreation. Boating is also allowed in designated places. It should be noted that boating on the Isar is always at your own risk. In the event of flooding, we strongly advise against going into the water due to the strong current and possible flotsam. The maps show the zones for boating in accordance with the current Ordinance on the Restriction of Common Use in Above-ground Waters within the City of Munich of 21. December 1976 (Bathing and Boating Ordinance). In addition, due to the general order of 02.04.2020, there is a boating ban in the Isar through the Floßgasse on the Marienklausensteg due to the danger points.
